Polish Bantams - Normal and Frizzled.
A rare breed not commonly found here in New Zealand. These delightful 'muppet lookalike chickens' are fairly uncommon and not easy to find. These are a predominantly ornamental chicken - they are not great layers and they will be more a pet than a productive member of your flock. But they are super sweet and who can resist those fantastic hairdos!! They do best in flocks of similar type small chickens as their large crests make them susceptible to bullying. The roosters are wonderful characters who will take on a threat far greater than them to protect their ladies.
The frizzled versions are loveable mops that are having a perpetual bad hair day.
We have very few of these cute wee things available. Ordering is a must and be prepared for a fairly long wait - not many eggs means not many chicks!!
