Gold Laced Wyandotte
Stunning in their colourful lacy attire is the Gold Laced Wyandotte - pictured above are our very own birds.
We have found this breed to be of excellent nature, hardy and have the looks to boot, as pictured here with their stunning rich gold & black plumage of the spectacularly beautiful Monarch butterfly.
The Wyandotte has a rose comb, making them suitable for all NZ environments, as they are not as prone to frost bite in colder climates! Easy care and generally a good layer! Although we have found some to be far better layers than others, most will lay tinted coloured eggs to browner shades.
We keep the beautiful Gold laced as you see here, and also the Silver laced & the stunning Blue laced & Splash / Buff laced varieties as well.
A very hardy, friendly heavy breed, that make great mothers and layers alike.
We have found the Gold Laced variety to have a good size egg and seem to be far less inclined to going broody than the Silver laced coloured variety.
